I never want it to look like I have it all figured out, and that I never get flustered or annoyed… because that’s so far from the truth! This tone is the raw emotions of how I was feeling when I first journaled. It was a lot to handle and a very exhausting week plus, in my opinion, it makes for a more interesting read this way 😂

The Post

About 6-8 weeks ago I started really working on my health and habits. I was doing really well!

Then I got an awful “sinus infection” which the walk-in doctor prescribed amoxicillin for…

The antibiotics messed me up like they sometimes do 🙄 only for my symptoms to get much worse…

I went back to the walk-in and a different dr said it was actually viral, and I just had to wait it out…

So at this point I get “we don’t know how long you’ll suffer but there’s also nothing we can do to help” as well as the realization that I didn’t need the amoxicillin from hell either 😫

Pardon my French. But it’s a fitting description.

Ok whatever, I finally make it past the sinus stuff (I think) only for the pilonidal cyst to come back…

The cyst that I’ve been dealing with for 3+ years now and has caused me 10, yes TEN! Surgeries in those three years. Did I mention it’s also partly why I had to quit my job and file for disability a few years ago 😠 (we’ll get to that another time)

So I go see my surgeon on Wednesday (6/23/21) and he schedules me for my 10th surgery the following day 😳

Fine… no biggie… it’s like the rest, go to sleep and wake up “better” until I’m not better anymore… and repeat.

So outpatient surgery on Thursday (6/24/21) followed by hemorrhaging on Friday (6/25/21) 😤 and I’m not talking a little…

In two hours I bled through a new bandage packing, abd pad dressing, an adult diaper, and my clothes… all while WAITING in the ER wAiTiNg RoOm 😑

They finally call me back to a room only to inform me the bleeding had stopped…

But wait! I wasn’t free to go, oh no 😈 they had to run tests… so pokes and prods and needles later and I’m there another 4 hours!!! Just for some basic tests…

Travis finally had to tell them we were leaving and they could call us if anything was bad. My anxiety was so high and I felt claustrophobic in that place 😣

The ER doctor said most of my test were normal that was fine. Well why didn’t you say that before doc 🤨 oh well… so Yay! FREEDOM!

Exactly six days later (7/1/21) I start running a fever… ok I guess I need more antibiotics from the surgery… so after calling my doctor, round two of bactrim is prescribed…

That night after hours I started getting a severe headache and very stiff neck and was also having light sensitivity… so like any good sick American, I webMD’d that…

Meningitis WHAT! 😭

I didn’t want to panic so I called the home health 24/7 nurse line and she strongly recommended that I go to the ER yet AGAIN!! Just to be safe…

So back to my home away from home we went… it was a quicker wait this time luckily, you know. Since I wasn’t BLEEDING OUT or anything…

I felt awful and was also possibly going to die based on webMDs information… the doctor checked me out and said she didn’t see any signs that it was meningitis. Woohoo what a relief – or it should have been…

You know what was wrong with me 😑 I had an inner ear infection. YES! An ear infection is why I went to the ER. I know I should be grateful it wasn’t meningitis and don’t get me wrong.. I’m stoked!

But going to the ER for the second time in the same week for an ear infection is embarrassing on some level apparently… especially compared to MENINGITIS 🙄

It’s all good… she prescribed a different and 4th round of antibiotics in this two month period (yay for gut health) and sent me on my way…

Now to today (7/8/21)… I’m 7 days in to this 4th antibiotic and I still have a FEVER 🥵 what’s that about!? It’s not even lower, if anything it’s more consistent and slightly higher…

😑

To be continued…..

Don’t forget to have a nap and a snack and come back Thursday for entry two!
